Odyssey – Florida Education Savings & Homeschool

Odyssey helps Florida families manage education savings and use funds for qualified homeschool expenses. Whether you use Step Up, ESA, or other state programs, understanding how Odyssey fits in helps you pay for curriculum and stay within program rules.

What is Odyssey?

Odyssey is part of Florida’s education choice landscape. Many families use it alongside or in place of other platforms to access scholarship or savings funds for private school, tutoring, or homeschool. Check the Florida Department of Education and your program (e.g. Step Up for Students) for current options and how Odyssey is used in your area.

Odyssey, Step Up, and Class Wallet

  • Step Up – Florida scholarship for eligible K–12 students. Funds can often be used for approved curriculum and services. We explain how Step Up works with homeschool and how to build scholarship readiness in grades 6–8.
  • Class Wallet – A payment platform used by some Florida programs so families can pay approved vendors (including curriculum) with scholarship or ESA funds. See our Class Wallet guide for how it works with homeschool purchases.

Odyssey, Step Up, and Class Wallet each have their own rules and eligible uses. Confirm with your program which platform you use and which expenses qualify.

Using Funds for Curriculum

Many Florida programs allow funds to be used for all-in-one curriculum and related materials. Homeschool Complete offers K–6 curriculum that fits how many Florida families use Step Up and education savings. Check your program’s list of approved vendors and expense types.
