Second Grade Curriculum

Second grade continues the core four with stronger reading fluency, deeper addition and subtraction, developing writing, and nature science and social studies. The same 4 core + 1 review + 1 project day rhythm keeps the week predictable. Florida homeschool requirements are met with a portfolio and annual evaluation.

What Second Grade Covers

• Language arts — Reading fluency, comprehension, paragraphs, and structured writing.
• Mathematics — Addition and subtraction mastery, place value, and early multiplication concepts.
• Science — Nature science and hands-on experiments.
• Social studies — U.S. and Florida history introductions, maps, and culture.

Weekly Structure

• 4 core days — Focused lessons in the core four subjects.
• 1 review day — Practice and reinforcement.
• 1 project day — Flex for projects or pacing.
